About us
In 2009, Japan's Research Institute of Science and Technology for Society (RISTEX) announced it would fund a three-year research and development project to establish the country's Science Media Centre (SMCJ).
Currently, staff members are investigating ways in which the centre can become a hub for accurate and engaging scientific and technological information.
Similar centres have already been successfully established in the United Kingdom and Australia, with several others following suit in New Zealand and Canada to name a few.
With the cooperation of these centres, the SMCJ aims to work as an independent, non-profit organization.
