Over the past month there have been a number of earthquakes occurring around the Pacific. A new study published in Nature Geoscience on March 27 has found that large earthquakes over the last 30 years have not triggered other large earthquakes on a global scale, but could on a regional scale. One of the paper's authors, Tom Parsons, gave us some comments.
* Please note that this research does not focus on earthquakes that have solely occurred around Japan, and looks at all earthquakes greater than magnitude 5 across the globe.
